Chocolate Mousse with Orange Syllabub

 A versatile family favorite as well as a luxurious dessert to finish a Romantic dinner.

Chocolate Mousse

Ingredients:

  • 30g Unsalted Butter
  • 135g Dark Chocolate
  • 3 Egg Yolks
  • 1 tablespoon Rum
  • 300g Whipping Cream
  • 3 Egg Whites
  • 45g Caster Sugar

Method:

  1. Attach Creaming beater
  2. Add unsalted butter, dark chocolate, egg yolk and rum to the EasyWarm Bowl
  3. Heat with splashguard fitted until melted - approx 10 min, 7, Stir 1
  4. Remove the bowl from the machine and set aside
  5. Attach Whisk
  6. Add whipping cream to the Kenwood Bowl
  7. Whisk until light and fluffy - 1 min 40 sec, Speed 5
  8. Transfer content of Kenwood Bowl to medium bowl then set aside
  9. Clean Kenwood Bowl
  10. Attach Whisk
  11. Add egg white to the Kenwood Bowl
  12. Whisk until soft peaks form - approx 2 min, Speed Max
  13. Add caster sugar to the Kenwood Bowl gradually while machine is running
  14. Whisk until well combined - approx 1 min, Speed Max
  15. Retrieve the melted chocolate and the whipped cream
  16. Fold cream into chocolate mixture
  17. Spoon one third of content of Kenwood Bowl into chocolate mixture
  18. Fold gently until combined
  19. Spoon another third of egg whites into the chocolate mixture
  20. Fold gently until combined
  21. Repeat with the rest
  22. Spoon chocolate mixture into tumbler glass evenly
  23. Chill in fridge - approx 1 hr
  24. Serve
