A traditional Easter recipe which is loved by all

Kwarezimal (2)

Ingredients:

  • 375g ground almonds
  • 225g granulated sugar
  • 250g plain flour
  • 15g coca powder
  • 2g mixed spice powder
  • 8g cinnamon powder
  • 2pcc orange juice & zest
  • 1/2pc lemon zest
  • 3g orange blossom water
  • 5g vanilla extract
  • 3g almond extract
  • chopped almonds
  • honey
  • water

You will also need:

Method:

  1. Preheat the oven to 175 degrees
  2. Add almonds, sugar, cocoa powder, and spices to the Kenwood Kitchen Machine.
  3. Attach the mixer bowl to the machine and fit the K-beater and the splash guard.
  4. Mix on speed for 2 minutes
  5. Start adding the wet ingredients slowly (you might not need to add them all)
  6. Mix until combined into a dough
  7. Take out the dough on a clean surface and split into 6 equal pieces
  8. Roll each piece into a log shape (do not flatten)
  9. With the back knife, dent the dough criss-cross
  10. Bake for around 12 - 14 minutes
  11. Take it out of the oven and immediately brush with honey
  12. Sprinkle chopped nuts
  13. Allow to cool overnight
  14. Eat & enjoy!

Makes:

Around 9 kwarezimal (depending on size)
